Exploring Previsualization Technology
in Fugitoid

Fugitoid, a short film centered on an unknowing android defending herself from villains, became a pivotal testing ground for advanced previsualization technology. Under the guidance of Visualization Technical Director Jesse Pascua and Stunt Coordinator Mark Ginther, Braxton McAllister creator/ director and the Action Design team utilized motion capture and Unreal Engine to redefine the boundaries of stunt coordination.

By experimenting with various camera angles and movements in a digital space, the team minimized performer fatigue and reduced the risks associated with multiple takes. The precise digital recreation of the set also allowed for meticulous planning of lighting, camera moves, and costumes, eliminating much of the guesswork traditionally involved in previsualization.

Empowering Smaller Teams to Create More Efficiently

The previsualization tools used in Fugitoid empowered the team to produce higher quality work more efficiently, even with a smaller crew.
